Tocky Vibes Hides in Fridge in SA Hideout Drama

Our favourite Zimbabwean musician, Tocky Vibes (real name: Obey Makamure), has been causing a buzz in South Africa. What's the tea, you ask? Well, Tocky pulled off a daring escape worthy of a blockbuster movie – straight from the stage to the fridge.

Baba Harare Shares Spiritual Journey

So, here's the lowdown: Tocky is wanted across the border for some serious fraud. He allegedly swindled music promoter Royce Mapaike out of a cool R30,000. Royce had booked flights, accommodation, and even video shoots for Tocky. In return, Tocky was supposed to deliver two epic shows. But guess what? Tocky's management started dodging calls and playing hide-and-seek.

Fast-forward to the weekend – Tocky had gigs lined up in Johannesburg. The South African Police Service got wind of it and decided to crash his party at Club Rampage in Kempton Park. But Tocky wasn't about to be caught like a rookie! He pulled a Houdini and vanished into thin air. Apparently, he chilled (literally) in a cold room until the cops gave up their search.

Royce Mapaike wasn't having any of it. He teamed up with the police and tracked Tocky down to a guest house. Tocky had a gig at Alicats Pub in Randburg that evening – talk about multitasking. But wait, there's more drama: a lawyer got involved, and negotiations were hotter than a summer hit. They decided to deal with the issue on Sunday. Meanwhile, Tocky was already airborne, flying back to Harare, Zimbabwe.

Mapaike isn't backing down. He's like a dog with a bone – determined to bring Tocky to justice. Tocky's passport is now flagged, which means if he tries to sneak back into South Africa, he'll get a not-so-warm welcome at any port of entry – airport or Beitbridge border post.

But hold up! Tocky's camp isn't keeping quiet. According to them, Royce is as shady as a palm tree at midnight. He allegedly pocketed money from other promoters, thinking he could cash in on Tocky's fame. And that $500 he paid? Barely a drop in the ocean! Plus, he wanted to use gate takings – major no-no, Royce! Tocky's camp insists he's a pro who sticks to his deals, even if it means paying the videographer out of his own pocket.
