Kenyan Serial Killer Collins Jumaisi Escapes Police Custody
In a shocking turn of events, Collins Jumaisi, a 33-year-old man described by police as a “vampire” and a “psychopath,” has managed to escape from a Nairobi police cell.
Jumaisi was arrested last month after the gruesome discovery of mutilated bodies in a garbage dump within a Kenyan slum.
According to Kenya police spokeswoman Resila Onyango, a total of 13 detainees, including Jumaisi, broke free from custody last night. The other 12 escapees were all Eritreans who had also been held at the same police station.
Jumaisi's case came to light when ten butchered female bodies were found trussed up in plastic bags at the dumpsite—an abandoned quarry in the Nairobi slum of Mukuru.
The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights had raised concerns about the proximity of the dumpsite to a police station, just 100 meters away.

During his court appearance in Nairobi last Friday, the magistrate ordered Jumaisi to remain in custody for an additional 30 days to allow police to complete their investigations.
Shockingly, Jumaisi had allegedly confessed to murdering 42 women over a two-year period starting in 2022. His wife was reportedly his first victim.
Mohamed Amin, the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, emphasized the severity of the case, stating, “We are dealing with a vampire, a psychopath.”
The state-funded KNCHR (Kenya National Commission on Human Rights) has launched its own investigation into the Mukuru case, aiming to rule out any possibility of extrajudicial killings.
