Sunday Reflections: The Blind Can See, the Deaf Hear, and the Lame can Walk
and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Eph'phatha," that is, "Be opened." -- Mark 7:34
Sunday Reflections: The Deaf Can Hear
Hey everyone, today, we talk about the power of faith and how it can move mountains. We are going to read three Bible readings and see how they connect to our lives today.
First up, we have Isaiah 35:4-7, where we hear about a world transformed by God's love. Picture this: the blind can see, the deaf can hear, the lame can walk, and the mute can sing! It's like a dream come true, right? But this is not just a fairytale – it's a promise from God that He will heal and restore His people.
In James 2:1-5, we are reminded that faith without works is dead. It is like saying you believe in football but never kick a ball – it does not make sense. God wants us to use our faith to help others and make a difference in the world.
Sunday Reflections: The Deaf Can Hear
Finally, in Mark 7:31-37, Jesus heals a deaf man. This is a powerful story because it shows us that even when things seem impossible, God can still work miracles. The man's family brings him to Jesus, and even though he is deaf and can not speak, Jesus knows exactly what is going on. He touches the man's ears and tongue, and BOOM! The man can hear and speak!
Sunday Reflections: Reaching Out to the Afflicted
Now, you might be thinking, “That is all well and good, but what does it have to do with me?” Well, everything! These stories show us that faith is a powerful force that can change our lives and the lives of others. It is about trusting in God, even when things are tough. It is about using our faith to help others and make a difference in the world.
And guess what? We don't have to be perfect to have faith. Even Saint Teresa of Calcutta, who was known for her work with the poor, said, “I am a failure. But God loves failures. He uses failures.” So don't be afraid to take a leap of faith, even if you're not sure where you will land.
