The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that there are investigations in progress in connection with a case involving six students from two local colleges who were found in an uncompromising position at a lodge in Chitungwiza on Wednesday 9th October 2024. An employee at the lodge has since been arrested as investigations continue to unfold.

It is common for learners to organise functions especially around end of year when seniors who are leaving schools organise dances, leavers' parties, and proms which are usually monitored by adults.
However, some go the extra mile and clandestinely organise functions like vuzu parties without the adults' knowledge or permission. At these functions, the learners indulge in anything and everything from alcohol, to drugs and illicit s.e.x.

In other news, on Synday 06th October 2024, police in Harare acted on received information and arrested ten suspects at a house along Mupani Avenue, Mufakose in connection with possession of four sachets of Crystal Meth. The suspects are:

- Davison Dezera (30),
- Abraham Kamanga (28),
- Lovemore Maruma (28),
- Brian Takunda Muchongwe (20) ,
- Kudzanai Mukopfa (24),
- Shingirai Chirwa (30),
- William Kamanga (28),
- Leeroy Tapiwa Chigwida (39) and
- Musa Chimwala.
