The Troubled Currency Project Hits Zimbabwe
Overzealous Prof Steve Hanke claims that he is the only accurate source of Zimbabwe's annual inflation rate.
Prof Steve Hanke claims that he is the only accurate source of Zimbabwe's annual inflation rate. He twitted the allegedly called Zimbabwe's Implied Annual inflation rate and claims to have taken the analytics on Market Watch, Bloomberg, US Statistics, Zimbabwe National Statics.
He noted that the inflation rates are implied from RTGS dollar and PPP; values below 25% should be considered unreliable.
“Since #Zimbabwe has stopped reporting annual inflation statistics, I am the only accurate source of Zimbabwe's annual inflation rate. The annual #inflation rate is a stunning 561 %/year, today. To crush it, Zim must dollarize” said Prof Stev Hanke on twitter.
Prof Steve Hanke is an American applied economist at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore. He is a senior fellow and Director of the Troubled Currencies Project at the Cato Institute in Washington which could explain his interest in the Zimbabwean economy.
However, his tweet has been met with dislike as followers were blasting the old fellow.
