Teachers Withdraw From Invigilating Zimsec Exams
Teachers have withdrawn labour refusing to invigilate on the upcoming ZIMSEC exams expected to commence on the 14th of October unless the government resolves the salaries satisfactorily.
The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) released a press statement on twitter warning government that teachers will not be invigilating in the ZIMSEC exams.
“Teachers have suffered enough come 14 October 2019 they will be indefinitely withdrawing their labour”, said ARTUZ.
ARTUZ says they are advocating for better treatment of teachers and are calling it the battle against austerity calling up teachers to join in to improve the education sector.
We dont have to risk the integrity of national examinations by deploying hungry and angry teachers as invigilators. Withdrawing labour on 14 October is in the best interest of our education sector. @RMajongwe @advocatemahere @PedzisaiRuhanya @DavidColtart #NoToSlaveWages pic.twitter.com/0xWN6Lh7BN
