Harare Central Hospital (Gomo) Renamed After Politician’s Wife
The Zanu PF led government renamed Harare Central Hospital after late former State President Robert Mugabe’s first wife, Sally who died of a kidney ailment in 1992.
This development came in November last year when the government renamed streets in all cities in Zimbabwe.
The Hospital is now called Sally Mugabe Hospital.
Acting Information Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu told journalists that, the streets and other buildings will be referred to by the new names with immediate effect.
Despite the lack of medicine, lack of medical treatment and sorrow state of hospitals in Zimbabwe, the lawmakers are concerned with naming of such hospitals.
