ZESA To Act Upon Defaulting Customers
The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has released a press statement advising all defaulting customers on the prepaid system to settle their electricity bills to avoid being disconnected.
ZETDC has intensified revenue collection efforts to recover its $1.2 Billion debt which will be targeting the commercial sector mainly hotels, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, shops, and others as well as the mining, agriculture and domestic sectors.
ZETDC said all defaulters who will not make efforts to clear their debts won't be spared because this exercise is being done to ensure that the company will b able to pay for electricity imports, coal for local generation ad to buy spares for network maintenance as well as other critical inputs for security of electricity supply.
