Meet “My Yoki Yoki” Singer Who Made A Thrilling Impression On S.A Idols
Humble musician, Vhudi, has sent the social media streets into a buzzing frenzy after he sang his own song ‘My Yoki Yoki’ at the Johannesburg auditions for SA Idols on, 17 August
The enthusiastic 20-year-old contestant from Limpopo gave the panel of judges chills and had them singing along to his catchy lyrics, which were in Venda.
Viewers were also impressed with his performance – so much so that immediately after his appearance on the show, he started trending on Twitter.
According to reports, Vhudi had released “My Yoki Yoki” last year, however, it didn’t get much recognition, so he decided to try during his SA Idols audition – this time, Mzansi fell in love with it, and the melodious song is now on everyone’s lips.
The young talent’s future is also looking bright, as the multi-award-winning Nigerian superstar, Davido, took to Twitter to ask tweeps to tell the SA Idols hopeful to send him a private message.
South African record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, also took to Twitter to acknowledge Vhudi.
They wrote: “A special Good Morning to The Yoki Yoki Guy.”

Congo-born platinum selling musician, Tresor Riziki, responded to tweeps’ suggestion to collaborate with Vhudi.
He responded: “I hear there’s a long lost young brother of mine killing it on #IdolsSA with his Yoki Yoki tune. The people have spoken and my mentions are a mess. Tell IdolsSA and GalloRecordsSA to call again and let’s make magic for the people.”
