Malema Backs Chamisa & Kasukuwere in 2023 Elections
“If people want Chamisa or Tyson, let them vote – how can you disqualify candidates?” - Julius Malema
South Africa’s opposition EFF leader Julius Malema has slammed President Emmerson Mnangagwa accusing him of trying to block former Zanu PF stalwart Saviour Kasukuwere from standing in elections.
“If people want Chamisa or Tyson, let them vote – how can you disqualify candidates?” asked Malema. He said Kasukuwere should be allowed to contest so Zimbabweans “have more options”.

“Let everyone contest. Why are you scared of Kasukuwere?” Malema fumed. Malema said South Africa wishes to see a “successful election with no violence” in Zimbabwe to ensure stability next door.
Malema also took aim at ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula for calling Zimbabwean opposition leader Nelson Chamisa an “American puppet.” Mbalula made the accusation against Chamisa at the ANC’s 9th Western Cape conference, claiming the West was backing him to oust Mnangagwa.
But Malema hit back hard during a TV debate, saying Mbalula was “offside” and had to provide evidence for his claim. “Chamisa’s policies are the same as the ANC’s – who is Mbalula to say he’s a puppet?” demanded Malema.
He accused the ANC of itself being a “British puppet from its formation”, pointing to clauses in its constitution protecting the Queen.
He made it clear – Mbalula has no right labelling opposition leaders “puppets” when the ANC has been taking orders from Britain for decades! Mbalula was left red-faced as Malema’s stinging rebuke went viral on social media.
