In line with the CCC leader Nelson Chamisa's vision of promoting women and young people to national leadership positions, the councilors in Masvingo have elected one of the youngest Mayors in the country.

Shantel Chiwara, a 25-year-old, has been elected as the Mayoress of Masvingo. She will be supported by Deputy Mayor Councillor Daniel Mberikunashe.


Mayoress Shantel Chiwara was born in 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Banking from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). She currently pursuing an Master's in Strategic Management degree at the Great Zimbabwe University (GZU).
