10 Arrested Over Murder of CCC Activist Tinashe Chitsunge
The CCC member was ambushed by the suspected ZANU PF youths while he was campaigning ahead of a rally to be held in the area
Zimbabwe Republic Police have launched an investigation into the violence at Riverside Area, Glennorah near Tanaka Grounds involving a CCC member who was stoned to death by suspected ZANU PF youths.
Tinashe Chitsunge, CCC member, was attacked while campaigning for their candidates in the area.
ZanuPf thugs (some who are identifiable in this video) ambushed and stoned @CCCZimbabwe supporters who were attending a rally in Harare’s Glen View South Constituency.

In a statement, Police Assistant Inspector Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident;
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms an incident of public violence in Riverside area, Glennorah near Tana Grounds, Haare on 3 August 2023 at 1300hrs.
One person is confirmed dead as result of the clashes. The scene is being attended by all relevant Police sections. A detailed statement will be issued in due course.
The incident has invited criticism from many.
Social media is awash with graphic photographs of the victim lying dead on the road and a picture of the alleged who attacker who was captured in the video.
The CCC member was ambushed by the suspected ZANU PF youths while they were conducting their campaigns ahead of a rally to be held in the area.
In an update on 03 August 2023, the ZRP said they had arrested 10 suspects in connection with the murder.
Reference is made to the Glennorah violence which occurred on 03/08/23 resulting in the death of Tinashe Edson Chitsunge. ZRP confirms that 10 suspects have now been arrested and are assisting the Police with investigations.
