Desire allegedly stabbed Brian after a dispute over sleepover arrangements
Chegutu, authorities are urgently seeking the assistance of the public in locating Desire Kanengoni, a female adult wanted in connection with a murder case.
The tragic incident occurred at a residence in Kaguvi Phase 2 on Wednesday.
According to reports, a heated dispute erupted between the suspect and the victim, identified as Brian Mawadi (26), after the suspect declined the victim’s request for a sleepover at her house.
The situation quickly escalated, resulting in the suspect allegedly stabbing Mawadi in the back with a knife. The victim succumbed to his injuries.
In the aftermath of the incident, Desire Kanengoni fled the scene, leaving authorities in pursuit.
The Chegutu Police are now appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect.
In a statement, the police said,
Police in Chegutu are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Desire Kanengoni (female adult) who is being sought in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a house in Kaguvi Phase 2 on 09/08/23.
The suspect stabbed the victim Brian Mawadi (26) with a knife on the back after a dispute in which the suspect had turned down the victim’s request for a sleepover at her house. The suspect is on the run.
