The former Zimbabwean national cricket team captain and fast bowler passed on today in South Africa.
Heath succumbed to cancer. He was 49.
Streak, the best Zimbabwean bowler to play the game, had a successful international playing career and holds the record as the first Zimbabwean to reach 100 Test wickets.
He was the first and only Zimbabwean to have completed the double of 1000 career runs and 100 wickets in test cricket as well as the first and only Zimbabwean to have completed the double of 2000 runs and 200 wickets in ODIs.
Born on 16 March 1974 to a prominent farming family, Heath grew up at a cattle ranch at Turk Mine, near iNyathi, in Matabeleland North, about 60km north-east of Bulawayo.
Despite his outstanding career, Streak was in 2021 found in breach of International Cricket Council anti-corruption policies and suspended from the game.
