Video: Scott Reaches Out to CCC's Kufa

The losing candidate for Mabvuku-Tafara, Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya of Zanu-PF has broken tradition by reaching out to the winner.

In a video shot in Mabvuku-Tafara, Scott is seen surrounded by hordes of supporters from the constituency whilst he makes some bold statements.

Scott promises to continue paying school fees and to work with the local Mabvuku-Tafara community.

Although he appears intoxicated, Scott makes a bold declaration that is rare especially among Zanu-PF losing candidates.

The self confessed “gold mafia” said he was willing to work with the winner Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi of the CCC and help to deal with the issues affecting the Mabvuku-Tafara community.

Taking a humble tone, the man promised to be on the ground and hear the people's concerns adding that it will be more beneficial for the community if he works with the winner Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi.

The conciliatory tone adopted by the losing candidate is a sign of departure from the politics of intolerance where CCC and Zanu-PF do not trust each other.

Scott becomes the second losing candidate who has promised to work with the winner after Temba Mliswa graciously conceded defeat to Richard Tsvangirai in Norton at the same time announcing his availability to work with him.

It remains to be seen if these gentlemen are sincere but their actions point towards the beginning of a better political culture of tolerance.
