Patrick Chinamasa and Rutendo Matinyarare called out for reckless statements regarding Levy Mwanawasa and Hakainde Hichilema
Zambia-Zimbabwe Diplomatic Row Deepens
The diplomatic row between Zambia and Zimbabwe is deepening right in our eyes.
SADC Crisis: Coup Plot Rumours in Zambia
It all started with the SADC Election Observer Mission Report which described the Zimbabwean August elections as a sham.
The SADC head of Mission, Dr Nevers Mumba who was appointed by Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema in his capacity as SADC Troika Chair on Peace, Defence and Security became a targeted man.
Although the SEOM report raised issues to do with ZEC, it was Zanu-PF who went into overdrive attacking Dr Nevers Mumba and Hakainde Hichilema.
Patrick Chinamasa and a sidekick Rutendo Matinyarare went beyond the limits when they allegedly took to social media to remind the Zambians of a former president Levy Mwanawasa's death.
Zambia-Zimbabwe Diplomatic Row Deepens
Levy Mwanawasa had directly exhorted Robert Mugabe and Zanu-PF after the 2008 elections. He succumbed to a stroke within a months.
The comments, coupled with rumours of coup plot linked to former president Edgar Lungu a Zanu-PF sympathiser who recently came to Zimbabwe for Mnangagwa's inauguration have exacerbated the crisis.
The unfolding events have jolted the Zambian leadership into action. The UNPD which is Hakainde Hichilema's party, held a solidarity march in which they singled out Patrick Chinamasa and Rutendo Matinyarare for their reckless statements.
The leadership as seen in the video below have vowed to take the case up with SADC & AU.
It’s no longer a joke Mr Bin and Matinyarare are in trouble
Vachiti tonho zvino!!
