Lifestyle tabloid H-Metro reports that according to court documents, the young Lomagundi College student who cannot be named because of his juvenile status, joined forces with an accomplice who is still on the run.
Together, they meticulously planned a trap for cellphone dealers using Instagram. However, their target wasn’t just any cell phones—it was the iPhones that they craved.
Under the guise of potential iPhone buyers, they enticed two salesmen, Tinashe Albert Bhamu and Howard Mudzamiri, using the allure of these highly sought-after devices.
Unbeknownst to the salesmen, they were stepping into a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood thriller.
Upon reaching the predetermined location, one of the robbers, armed with the stolen Astra Magnum revolver, confronted the salesmen.
When the salesmen adamantly refused to part with their prized iPhones, a gunshot was fired, injuring the driver and causing their vehicle to crash.
Seizing the moment, the robbers made off with several coveted iPhones.

The situation unfolded like a movie as one of the suspects menacingly aimed the gun at the girl, threatening to shoot her if the pursuing crowd got any closer.
The mob was left with no choice but to maintain a distance as the juvenile fired a warning shot into the air, allowing the culprits to vanish with their precious iPhones.
Following an intensive investigation, the student’s involvement in the iPhone heist was uncovered, leading to his arrest on October 10. Subsequently, he cooperated with the police, aiding in the recovery of one of the stolen iPhones, as well as the stolen firearm.
Appearing before Harare regional magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa, the 17-year-old student faced charges of theft and robbery. Owing to his status as a juvenile, he was released into his mother’s custody and was not required to enter a plea.
