Mukupe, who is serving a three-year jail term for smuggling diesel, was allegedly caught red-handed with Janet Mutizwa, a prison officer at Harare Central Prison.
The incident has raised serious concerns as it violates the regulations outlined in the Prison Act, which strictly prohibits any form of engagement between officers and inmates.
According to the Act, any officer found guilty of such misconduct can face charges and severe consequences.
The details surrounding the incident are still emerging, but sources close to the matter suggest that Mukupe and Mutizwa were discovered engaging in intimate activities by other prison officers on duty.

As a result, Mutizwa has been transferred from Harare Central Prison to an undisclosed location while investigations into the matter continue.
This is not the first time Mukupe’s public life has been tainted by controversy. In the past, he faced legal issues for assaulting the finance director of his ministry, resulting in a fine.
Additionally, during a live political debate, Mukupe was accused of mocking Tendai Biti’s supposed HIV status, further adding to his troubled reputation.
The recent incident with Mutizwa has once again put Mukupe in the spotlight, raising questions about his conduct and judgment.
As the investigation progresses, it remains to be seen what further actions will be taken against both Mukupe and Mutizwa, and how this scandal will impact their respective futures.
