TM Ruwa: 3 Road Accidents within 45 Minutes
Three separate road traffic accidents occurred around 7 pm today on Mutare Road near the TM Ruwa area, just before the traffic lights heading towards town.
The first accident involved a truck that veered off the road and ended up lying on its side. Witnesses reported that the truck, which was carrying day-old chicks, had three passengers on board who sustained injuries.
The second incident occurred at the same spot as the first accident. A town-bound haulage truck jackknifed. Fortunately, the truck's sole occupant, the driver, escaped with minor injuries according to witnesses at the scene.
In the third road traffic accident (RTA), a double-cab vehicle also heading towards town collided directly with the jackknifed haulage truck. Witnesses stated that the double-cab had only the driver on board, who suffered serious injuries, particularly to the arm and head.

As of now, there have been no reports of fatalities.
Additionally, witnesses mentioned that a Gold Class Bus and its passengers narrowly avoided an accident. The bus, also heading towards town, almost collided with the stationary haulage truck. The bus driver had to make a quick turn to avoid the accident.
Please note that the road is slippery due to wet weather conditions.
These incidences come less than 24hrs after another fatal accident occurred in Mabvuku. The Mabvuku RTA has now claimed six lives with five of them having died on the spot. Road traffic accidents are becoming all too common along Zimbabwean roads for a plethora of reasons including wreckless driving and the poor state of the roads.
