Weather Forecast: Chilly Weekend Ahead for Zimbabwe | Last Bhundu Boy Dies

Get ready for a significant temperature drop starting this Friday, says the Meteorological Services Department (MSD). Several regions, including Matabeleland South, Masvingo, Manicaland, and southern Midlands, will experience cooler daytime temperatures.

Temperatures could plummet to 13°C, with elevated areas reaching as low as -5 to -10°C. The MSD blames a cool and moist south-easterly airflow moving in on Friday and Saturday.

Expect cloudy skies, windy conditions, light rain, and drizzle. Residents, dress warmly and take precautions!

By Sunday, the weather will shift slightly, with scattered clouds and milder conditions in Bulawayo, southern Matabeleland North, Midlands, Harare, and Mashonaland East.

The MSD calls this weather pattern the “deadly kick of a dying winter horse” – a strengthening of cool winds from southern Africa's southeastern coast.

In sad news…

The Zimbabwean music industry is in mourning following the passing of Rise Kagona, the pioneering guitarist and founding member of the legendary Bhundu Boys. Kagona died in Scotland at 62, leaving behind a transformative legacy that reshaped African music.

Born on May 17, 1962, in Malawi, Kagona’s innovative guitar playing drove the Bhundu Boys’ meteoric rise to fame.
