A 25-year-old man was fatally shot with his own firearm during a heated parking dispute in Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal, on Saturday afternoon.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call at approximately 2PM and responded to the incident at the corner of George Sewpersad/Moss and Ireland Street.
Man Pleasures Himself in Bulawayo Parking Lot
Upon arrival, officers found a man who had sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the shoulder. He showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a colleague of the deceased, they had parked their Hino 300 truck in a business driveway while delivering ice cream to a local store.
This prompted a confrontation with the driver of a white Isuzu bakkie, who was angered by the obstruction.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which the deceased was overpowered by the Isuzu driver and two accomplices.
The suspects reportedly disarmed the victim and shot him twice. As he tried to escape, they pursued and shot him a third time.
The suspects fled the scene following the incident, which unfolded in full view of numerous shoppers in the busy CBD area.

Later, one of the suspects returned to the scene, surrendering himself and the victim’s firearm to RUSA officers. He was subsequently arrested by the Verulam SAPS.
