Sangomas Makgotso “Gogo Maweni” Mokopo and Patricia “Gogo Skhotheni” Motsoeneng have been embroiled in a heated public feud that has now taken an intensely personal turn.
In a recent social media outburst, Gogo Maweni accused Gogo Skhotheni of being responsible for the death of her child, Monde Junior, who passed away on September 2, 2024.
The animosity between the two traditional healers has been brewing for some time, with their disagreements spilling over onto social media.
A Child is Gift from God – Gogo Maweni
Most recently, Maweni and her friend Dominic, along with others, went live online to confront Skhotheni. The spat began when Skhotheni commented on Dominic’s stance against homophobia.
Dominic had been addressing homophobic remarks made by a TikTok user, @Nobangela, who ended her video by promoting a brand.
Dominic’s criticism of the user sparked Skhotheni’s response, accusing Dominic of trying to get homophobic individuals fired.
In her live video, Gogo Maweni accused Skhotheni of abusive behavior, claiming it was the reason for her child’s death.

Monde Junior, Skhotheni’s child, tragically passed away due to a medical condition in which he was born without the tube that transports food to the stomach.
“That is why umntwana wakho (your child) is dead. It’s because wena uhlumukeza abanye abantwana (you abuse other children),” Maweni alleged during the live broadcast.
Maweni also criticized Skhotheni for failing to help her own child, contrasting it with her efforts to ensure her own son, who has epilepsy, is alive and well.
The online drama took another turn when Maweni and her friends alleged that Skhotheni’s husband, Monde, had been propositioned to sleep with Dominic.
Skhotheni vehemently denied the accusation, calling it a fabrication.
In retaliation, Skhotheni made a bold claim against Maweni’s husband, Sabelo. She alleged that she had seen Sabelo kissing a gay man, who she claimed is Maweni’s best friend, at Constitutional Hill.
“Your husband must tell you that I saw him with your best friend at Constitutional Hill. Don’t test me,” Skhotheni said during the exchange.
She went on to suggest that Maweni’s husband is bisexual, even daring him to take her to court if he denied the claim.
Skhotheni accused Maweni of wearing counterfeit Gucci items and questioned the authenticity of her luxury cars.
Maweni countered by challenging Skhotheni’s claim of owning a nightclub, implying that it was not truly hers.
