ZACC Nabs Pastor for Fraud and Forgery

In a recent development, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has apprehended Kudzai Ngoni Nyamasoka, a pastor affiliated with Faith Ministries International. The charges against him involve fraudulent activities and forgery.

According to reports, back in March 2024, Nyamasoka attempted to secure a lease for a piece of land next to his church from the Harare City Council. Unfortunately for him, his application was unsuccessful. The plot in question was eventually granted to another church, True Believers International Ministries.

However, Nyamasoka didn't take this setback lightly. Allegedly, he conspired with unidentified individuals who claimed to be from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the President's Department, and Zanu PF. Together, they intimidated members of the True Believers International Ministries, pressuring them to vacate the land.

But that's not all. Nyamasoka also allegedly posed as an officer from ZACC named Phiri, threatening Harare City Council officials. He even went so far as to forge letters adorned with the ZACC logo, which he sent to the City of Harare's Mbare district office.

ZACC wrote on their X (formerly Twitter) handle:

“ZACC has arrested Kudzai Ngoni Nyamasoka, a pastor with Faith Ministries International on allegations of fraud and forgery.

After his unsuccessful lease application, Nyamasoka, in connivance with individuals yet to be identified, but who purported to be from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, President's Department, and Zanu PF intimidated members of the True Believers International Ministries church to vacate the stand.

“The accused would also threaten Harare City Council officials purporting to be one Phiri, an officer from ZACC and would write fraudulent letters with ZACC Logo to the City of Harare's Mbare district office officials.”

Nyamasoka is appearing in court today, 23 May 2024.
