In a spine-chilling turn of events, a 10-year-old Grade 7 girl from Goromonzi has reportedly been initiated into satanism by her schoolmates, leaving her family in turmoil.

The girl's distraught mother shared the harrowing details, revealing that her daughter, who resides on a farm in Chief Chinhamora’s area, has been exhibiting bizarre behaviour reminiscent of a snake.
According to her mother, the girl hisses, writhes, and darts her tongue like a snake, and even cries like a hyena. She said:
This girl is possessed by a snake spirit. She starts to hiss like a snake, writhing around and sticking out her tongue like a snake. She also cries like a hyena when she is possessed.
The unsettling events began at school when an unknown woman approached the girl, placing her hands on her head as if in prayer. A group of children joined the woman, also touching the girl's head. Shortly after, the girl began experiencing strange visions of snakes being thrown at her and placed in her stomach. The girl recounted:

After that, I started seeing strange things, including snakes being thrown at me, some being placed in my stomach, and being taken out at night to practice witchcraft with others.
The young girl claims she has been taken to secret rituals at night with other children, where they are made to eat “sadza, rice, and meat” and drink a “red beverage.” She alleges they are transported by a large snake capable of carrying up to 20 people and have travelled to distant places like Mozambique under the influence of this spirit.
Even more disturbingly, she says her mother doesn’t notice her absence at night because her shadow remains in the house while she is away.
The girl's mother, heartbroken and exhausted, has been desperately seeking help, but the ordeal has torn her family apart. She lamented how her once top-performing daughter has fallen behind in school and now names people in the community as her fellow witches. The stress has even cost her husband his job. She appealed:
This problem started when my daughter was at school, where she was a top student.
Since she started being possessed by this spirit, we have sought help from various people, who have taken her mind to make it like their children’s so that she can attend school.
She names people we live with, saying they are the ones she goes out with to practice witchcraft, and she is no longer able to perform as well as she used to at school.
