Google Rolls Out A New Look To Desktop Users
This week you may have noticed Google’s search results look a little different. That’s because of an effort aimed at clarifying sources of information, according to the company.
The new design brings up a website’s branding, with the name and icon of a website appearing at the top of the search results card, thus helping users more easily scan the results and decide what to click on.
Google has also added small logos (favicon) to each search result that appears when someone enters a search query on their desktop. For example, a ZBIN logo appears next to the results that come from the website.
I believe that this update in desktop search results will have significant impact on website traffic since most clicks still come from desktop users.
On average Google receives 71,000 of searches per second from all around the world, this translates to about 6.1 billion total daily searches.
Digital marketing is a constantly changing industry, and marketers need to note these changes.
