Chelsea Football Club which played with Southampton yesterday at St Mary's stadium suffered a shocking loss of 2 -1.
This deflated the spirits of Chelsea supporters who thought the game was a walkover after their win against Leicester
Chelsea fell to a second away defeat in a row as they were beaten 2-1 by Southampton despite taking the lead. Raheem Sterling scored for Chelsea which made a good start, but Southampton would come from behind and grab all precious three points.
Chelsea put on a listless performance which had some reminiscing of the recent heavy defeat against Leeds.
Southampton's Romeo Lavia made a good finish from the edge of the box to equalise with his first goal for his club before Adam Armstrong sent the Saints into the break ahead as he fired in from close range in first-half added-time.
Chelsea sought for the elusive equaliser in the second half but Southampton held on for the win. The defeat leaves Chelsea in 8th position while Southampton jumped to 7th.
