11 Zimbabweans removed from sanctions list.
The United States of America on Thursday, 15 September, announced the removal of 11 individuals from the Zimbabwe sanctions list.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has, however, designated one Zimbabwe individual on the Specially Designated Nationals List (SDN List) under the Zimbabwe sanctions program.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Deputy Commissioner for Administration, Stephen Mutamba, has been added to the sanctions list
In a post the US embassy on their Twitter page posted
“Today @USTreasury delisted 11 individuals from the Zimbabwe sanctions program. The United States is committed to keeping its sanctions program current and relevant. These delistings reflect that.”
The US department said the sanctions were not put on the whole nation but on individual who has a record of human rights abuses.
