Armed robbers seize US$900,000 in raid at drink maker Kambucha.
The men allegedly overpowered security guards on duty before entering the premises.
Armed robbers blasted a safe and stole about US$900,000 from a manufacturing plant of the Kambucha energy drink in Harare early Wednesday.
Police are investigating the raid at 17001 Sande Crescent in the Graniteside industrial area.
National police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:
“We confirm the robbery but we are yet to ascertain how it happened and the exact of money stolen.”
Sources at the company said an estimated US$900,000 was taken in the raid at around 1AM, allegedly carried out by six armed men.
