Bulawayo just like Harare has remained an opposition stronghold and they have affirmed this by achieving a clean sweep of 12 out of 12 seats in Zimbabwe's largest city.

Both Mthuli and Modi almost won the seats via a technicality after the High Court had disqualified the 12 CCC's Bulawayo candidates on the basis that they had submitted their nomination papers later than the stipulated time of submission.
