Harare – Two Southlea Park teenagers are facing serious legal trouble after allegedly killing a 33-year-old man, Nelson Chiripanyanga, during a violent altercation over a thigh vendor.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident.
According to Nyathi, the altercation occurred in Southlea Park, where the two male juveniles, aged 17 and 16, reportedly engaged Chiripanyanga in a physical confrontation.
The fight escalated when the juveniles used both their fists and an unknown sharp object against the victim. The argument was reportedly centered around a dispute involving a lady of the night.
The two teenagers are now under investigation for murder as police continue to gather evidence and piece together the details of the case.

In a separate case, police in Marondera have detained Knowledge Kapesa (36), who is suspected to be mentally ill, in connection with another murder.
The incident took place at Rasternburg Farm on July 27, 2024. Kapesa allegedly attacked his father, Manuel Kapesa (76), with stones after a disagreement over sweet potatoes. The assault resulted in Manuel Kapesa’s death at the scene.
Meanwhile, Police have apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in a series of armed robberies across Harare, while a third suspect was fatally shot during a confrontation with law enforcement.

In a statement released yesterday, National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Kenneth Chiputura, 50, and Jaison Munyapa, 18, who are linked to multiple armed robbery cases that occurred between May 31 and July 23, 2024.
The third suspect, Raymond Mugabe, 39, died from injuries sustained in a shootout with police.
