Guard Commits Suicide In Econet Shop

A Guard Alert security official who was stationed at an Econet Wireless Shop in Harare committed suicide after he shot himself once in the head for yet to be revealed reasons.

The tragic incident occurred at around 5 pm at the Econet Shop along the Intersection of First Street and George Silundika Avenue.

Circumstances leading to horror suicide are still unclear.

There were allegations that he was going through some financial problems.

The security guard only identified as Nyamadzawo shot himself in a toilet at the shop.

According to a witness, one of the vendors who operate outside the shop:

“We were outside the shop when we heard the sound of the gunshot and we ran for our dear life. We later discovered that a security guard had shot himself inside the toilet that is on the first floor of the shop.”

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said he was still investigating details of the case.
