Myth behind Friday the 13th
There are various myths surrounding Friday the 13th, many people believe that if the 13th of the month falls on a Friday like today is a taboo, whilst horror-movie addicts would recall the series that includes Jason lives, the final chapter, Jason goes to hell as well as Freddy vs Jason.
Friday has been considered to be an unlucky day since the 14th century, and for some, it is regarded as an unlucky day to undertake journeys and many people are likely to feel nervous.
The fear and uneasiness about the 13th are noted in biblical terms be the day that Jesus died and the day that Eve tempted Adam with the apple.
Some people are dismissive of the concept saying that it does not apply to African culture because people are being influenced by European culture by what they see on television, or read in papers or magazines.
