The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has announced increased fuel prices in its latest price review effective today, 5 December 2020.
The price of diesel is now ZWL$97.24 and US$1.19 per litre, while that for petrol is now ZWL$97.44 and US$1.19 per litre.
ZERA announced the price increases in a public notice late on Friday and said that operators may, however, sell at prices below the cap depending on their trading advantages.
Diesel had the most significant increase. Its price increased by almost 20% from ZWL$82.05. The price for Diesel in US$ also went up by an almost similar margin from US$1 to U$1.19.
The prices increase for petrol is rather insignificant as it rose by only ZWL0.33 and the US$ price remained unchanged.
