Gems Get $500 Each For Qualifying For The 2023 World Cup

The Zimbabwe national netball team, the Gems were awarded US$11 000  by the government and was confirmed by Sports, Arts and recreation minister Kirsty Coventry for qualifying for the 2023 World Cup which will take place in Cape town, South Africa.

The Gems defeated the Zambians by 59-41 in a third-place play-off match last week Saturday which gave them a leeway to qualify for the World Cup.

The games were played in Pretoria South Africa and the Gem's victory qualified Zimbabwe to take part in the world Cup qualifiers.

Zimbabweans were overjoyed by the win, as the country has not been lucky in terms of football as we suffered defeats but the Gems showed there is still hope for Zimbabwe in sports.

Minister Kirsty Coventry was associate joyed by the victory as she gave them 11000usd for the victory in which each player will get 500usd each.
