The duo's act of contrition has people questioning their motives
Tongai Matutu was quick to congratulate the two Mandiitawepi ‘Mandi' Chimene and former Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri.
Thank you Cde Mandi Chimene and Cde Chihuri for such a humble apology. Zanu Pf is the home to every Zimbabwean. I did my part alongside others for the sanctions we lobbied for against Zimbabwe, sooner or later we shall see apologies from all those still in the CCC and MDC. pic.twitter.com/b14PsiI8Sb

The duo becomes the second to openly apologize after former cabinet ministers Jonathan Moyo and Mugabe's nephew Patrick Zhuwao.
The apology comes back on the heels of a speech by another G40 kingpin Saviour Kasukuwere who vowed that he would never beg for forgiveness from Zanu-PF. His speech has sparked a social media row between him [Tyson] and Jonathan Moyo.
