The 12 CCC Bulawayo candidates in big win at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court set aside an earlier High Court judgment that had been passed with the effect of removing the CCC candidates from the ballot over allegations that they filed their papers late.
The Supreme Court judgment marks a turning point as for past judgments passed by the judiciary have been going against the opposition.
Off late, Kasukuwere’s disqualification was upheld by the same Court, just as Douglas Mwonzora's 87 candidates were also disqualified. The opposition has accused the judiciary of being captured and taking instructions from the Zanu-PF government.
The litigations have put a huge dent on the credibility of the 2023 August 31 polls. These polls are the most legally contested since the 1980 plebiscite.
