The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) reports that Makotoane appeared in court on Tuesday at the Mokhotlong Magistrate’s Court.
On Friday, her lifeless body was discovered tied up and gagged in the boot of their Kia Sportage. He was then taken into custody.
Magistrate Thamae had Requested Divorce
When questioned, Makotoane confessed to killing Thamae and blamed his actions on their failing marriage, according to Detective Inspector Limpho Pitso, the chief of the Mokhotlong detectives, who testified in court.
Pitso reported that the murder suspect, who is 41 years old, claimed that Thamae sought for divorce after their marriage hit its lowest point.
