ZERA Slashes LP Gas Prices for January 2025
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced reduced Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices for January, 2025 in a development expected to benefit individual consumers and businesses.
The Gas price has been cut to US$1.61 per Kg and ZWG 41.63 per Kg.
ZERA confirmed the reduction of Gas price on it’s X (formerly known as twitter) handle account stated that the removal of Value-Added Tax (VAT) has play a significant role on price reduction.

“Stakeholders are advised that the LPG prices for December 2024 were calculated in accordance with the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations, 2021 (Statutory Instrument 90). However, following the removal of Value-Added Tax (VAT), the prices have been reduced, effective 1 January 2025, as follows:

Operators are advised to display the prices at their retail outlets at a prominent place in clearly legible letters. Please note that it is permissible to sell LPG at price below the prescribed prices depending on one’s trading advantage,” ZERA said.

An alleged male drug peddler, identified as Shadreck Sithole aged 45 was arrested for unlawful possession of two kilogrammes of dagga.
On 30th of December, 2024, the detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)’s Drugs and Narcotics section in Masvingo acted on a tip off that Sithole is a drug peddler. After a search, the detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics found two kilogrammes of dagga.
“On 30/12/24, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Masvingo acted on a tip off and arrested Shadreck Sithole (45) at Nyika Growth Point, Bikita for unlawful possession of two kilogrammes of dagga,” ZRP Spokesperson confirmed.
